On Nov 2, the two schools organized an online exchange activity on the theme of Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day and the school anniversary.

Under the guidance of teachers from both sides, the students talked about their local Mid-Autumn Festival customs, National Day celebrations and school celebration activities.

The students from Weihai Jingyuan Primary School also shared their experiences of visiting two famous Chinese attractions, Mount Tai and the Forbidden City, during the National Day holiday, and this gave their Malaysian counterparts a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural significance embodied by China's famous landmarks.

Teachers from Weihai Jingyuan Primary School then interpreted "Shui Diao Ge Tou" or Moon in Glass, a famous poem by Song Dynasty (AD 960-1279) poet Su Shi, to students from both China and Malaysia, allowing them to appreciate the poet's optimistic attitude towards life, as well as his heartfelt wishes for those who have experienced the pain of separation.

Through this class, students from both sides gained a profound understanding of the beauty of Chinese poetry and culture.

Through various themed online exchange activities, the Chinese and Malaysian teenagers have broadened their horizons and deepened their friendship through mutual sharing and communication. They have continuously enhanced the understanding and attention of overseas Chinese teenagers towards their ancestral homeland, nurturing a strong cultural bond and fostering friendly relations between the two countries, said the organizers.
