The opening ceremony of the Online Chinese Summer Camp of Yellow River Estuary Impression was held on Aug 20 at the Shandong Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology in Dongying, Shandong province.

The camp serves as a Chinese language and cultural experience program for people around the world who are interested in learning more about China. It is committed to combining Chinese language learning with Yellow River cultural experiences, leading international students to feel the charm and culture of the Yellow River while improving their Chinese language ability, and deepening their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

About 100 students from Russia, Myanmar, Vietnam and other countries joined the opening ceremony online.

Since the beginning of this year, the Dongying municipal foreign affairs office has organized a series of international youth exchange activities. It also held the opening ceremony of the international youth "Yellow River Culture" exchange camp, the 2023 International Youth Exchange Conference Dongying Station activities, and will host the Northeast Asia Youth Sustainable Development Study Camp Dongying Station activities in early September.

By organizing young people from around the world to participate in such activities, they can feel the charm of the Yellow River and explore the culture of the Yellow River, said an official from the Dongying municipal foreign affairs office.

It can also further promote exchanges between young people in China and overseas, and enhance their mutual understanding, he added.
