The 24th China (Shouguang) International Vegetable Sci-Tech Fair in Shouguang, Shandong province came to a close on May 30.

This year, over 300 delegations and 2.21 million visitors participated in the fair, which displayed products and services from fields such as horticultural technologies, planting models, new vegetable varieties, and modern agricultural equipment.

Consisting of 38 supporting activities, the fair saw 14.96 billion yuan ($2.09 billion) worth of contracts signed.

Shouguang is one of the biggest hubs for fruits and vegetables in China. The vegetable planting area in Shouguang spans about 467 square kilometers and has an annual output of more than 4.5 million tons that are worth over 100 billion yuan. The fruits and vegetables from Shouguang are not only popular domestically but also exported to many countries around the world.

The fair, which serves as a window to display advanced technology and planting modes within the vegetable industry from around the world, has attracted more than 30 million visitors and facilitated deals worth over 200 billion yuan since its inception.
