Shandong province has recently released an action plan to promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry towards industrialization, digitalization, and greening through intelligent construction.

By the end of 2025, Shandong aims to cultivate over 30 backbone enterprises in intelligent construction, foster more than 200 pilot enterprises and projects in intelligent construction, achieve an application rate of 30 percent for suitable technologies in large and medium-sized construction projects, and achieve full coverage of intelligent construction application scenarios in all 16 cities across the province.

In the context of the construction industry, "intelligent construction" primarily refers to the extensive application of intelligent technologies and related techniques throughout the construction process to enhance the level of construction intelligence, reduce reliance on manual labor, and ultimately achieve higher construction quality and efficiency.

Moreover, it aims to reduce the use of resources, labor, energy, and carbon throughout the entire construction cycle.
