Shandong seeks opportunities, cooperation at 6th CIIE

Fifty time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage related companies from Shandong province participated in the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which was held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, to seek more cooperative opportunities.

Luweizhai, a brand famous for its delicacies and based in Shandong's provincial capital of Jinan, launched a new fat-free pork trotter rice at the expo that attracted large crowds. The pork trotter has been enhanced by the addition of local characteristic agricultural products from Huaiyin district.

Ruifu Oil & Fat Co, the owner of the Cuizi sesame oil brand, which has a history of more than 600 years, signed a purchase order with Duka Engeneering & Trading Plc, a company from Ethiopia, for 6,000 metric tons of sesame at the CIIE. The deal was valued at $1.5 million.

"We also signed a $500,000 export sales agreement involving sesame oil, tahini, and sesame products with Poke House Company from the United States," said Pang Chunzhu, marketing director of Ruifu Oil & Fat Co.

Pan pointed out that participating in the CIIE comes with numerous benefits, including increased brand exposure, enhanced international networking opportunities, and gaining valuable insights into emerging global trends.

Shandong FRL Jewelry, a time-honored brand, and Laomiao Group, a Shanghai-based gold and jewelry store chain, signed a cooperation agreement worth 105 million yuan ($14.39 million) during the expo.
