The annual "Meeting the Sea along the Yellow River" photography and short video contest was launched on Oct 16.

The event, jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Shandong Haidai Traditional Culture Research and Development Center, is open to photographers and short video producers at home and abroad for works produced in Shandong province with the theme "Meeting the Sea along the Yellow River".

The event aims to vividly display the majestic image of the Yellow River meandering for thousands of miles and rushing into the sea through the lens of photographers and short video creators from home and abroad.

Compared with the previous five editions, this year's edition has expanded to include not only works by various types of cameras, but also those produced by drones and mobile phones.

The submission period is from Oct 16 to Nov 20, and all works should be submitted via email, complete with the contestants' personal information and introduction to their work in a Word document.

The review of the contest consists of online voting and expert review, respectively accounting for 20 percent and 80 percent. Online voting and review will be conducted from Nov 23 to 28.

There are first, second, and third-place prizes and excellence awards for photography and short videos, respectively. There are also Internet Popularity Awards, Outstanding Organization Awards, and Special Contribution Awards, according to the organizers.

In addition to receiving certificates, winners can also receive prizes such as tickets to the Yellow River Estuary Ecological Tourism Zone and Zhuquan village and Hongshizhai tourist attractions, as well as high-end specialty bed and breakfast services provided by Zibo Huiquan Taohua Island, according to the organizers.
