Jinan, capital of Shandong province, held an unveiling ceremony for the Chinese Culture Corner Nishan Library at Kazakh National Pedagogical University on Oct 9.
The library, named after Nishan, the birthplace of Confucius, is a cultural exchange platform created by Jinan. Its aim is to use books as a medium to showcase the beauty of cultures from various countries and promote mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
Founded in 1928, Kazakh National Pedagogical University is ranked among the top in Kazakhstan's university rankings.
The establishment of the Chinese Cultural Corner Nishan Library in the school is of great significance to promoting mutual understanding and exchanges between China and Kazakhstan, which have been closely connected with each other since the ancient Silk Road, according to the Jinan municipal government.
The library will provide readers in Kazakhstan with Chinese books that allow them to learn about Chinese culture.
The library is Jinan's first step in strengthening ties with the Kazakhstan university, said the municipal government. More cultural exchange programs will be launched to facilitate further understanding between the people of the two countries in the future.
