Team China secured the gold medal with a score of 1,736 points in the final of the men's 25-meter rapid-fire pistol team event at the Chengdu FISU World University Games on July 30.

The Chinese team comprised Shandong athlete Liu Shuai, Xia Qi and Duan Zhicheng. The gold medal won by Liu is the first gold medal obtained by a Shandong athlete at the Chengdu FISU World University Games.

Liu, 22, is currently studying at Shandong Sport University.

In 2021, he represented the Shandong team in the men's 25-meter rapid-fire pistol event at the 14th National Games.

During the National Shooting Championships in June 2023, Liu and his teammates won a silver medal in the men's 25-meter rapid-fire pistol team event with a score of 1,738 points.
