Shandong archers shine at FISU World University Games

Team China secured victory over France to claim gold in the men's compound archery team event at the FISU World University Games on July 30 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.

The Chinese team comprised Du Meiyu, Chen Yansong and Wang Shikun.

Chen and Wang hail from Shandong. Born in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, Chen is a student from the Shandong Vocational College of Industry in Zibo city. Wang, who was born in Shandong's Qingdao city, is a student at Qufu Normal University.

The FISU World University Games features youths from diverse backgrounds from all over the world. A total of 269 gold medals are up for grabs at the Chengdu games, which is featuring sports including archery, gymnastics, track and field, and badminton. About 6,500 athletes from 113 countries and regions are competing at the games.
