The company is a global leader in component parts, including those for acoustics, optics, microelectronics, and enclosures. It is also a global leader in hardware for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), wearables, headsets, homes, and other aspects of the digital era. Additionally, it concentrates on the R&D, production, and sales of high-end manufacturing systems.

Goertek started developing VR-related technologies in 2012. Now it has become one of the few VR manufacturers globally to reach the production scale of 1 million sets. It is also one of the largest manufacturers of mid and high-end VR headsets.
The company provides a wide variety of VR optical solutions such as aspheric lenses, Fresnel lenses, pancake modules and AR optical solutions such as freeform, birdbath and prism reflection technologies.
It can also provide overall VR solutions covering VR HMD headsets, data gloves, gaming controllers, outside-in tracking equipment, large VR accessories and other intelligent interactive products.
According to the 2022 semi-annual report, the company's operating revenue reached 43.6 billion yuan ($6.26 billion), up 43.96 percent year-on-year. Revenue from smart hardware, such as VR and AR products, smart wearable products, and smart home electronic gaming consoles and accessories, hit 24.81 billion yuan, accounting for 56.9 percent of the total.
