The 2022 International Summit on Innovation and Development of Youth Entrepreneurs and the Youth Economic and Social Development Innovation Forum kicked off on July 19 in Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

According to the organizers, the event is designed to build a platform that connects resources and creates conditions for young entrepreneurs to participate in the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

The event aims to attract more outstanding young entrepreneurs at home and abroad to carry out exchanges and cooperation, and invest in Shandong.

Li Ganjie, Party secretary of Shandong, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that Shandong has a long history and profound deposits and is known as "the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, as well as a land of ceremonies".

The province on the east coast of China is an economic powerhouse, which is promoting innovation-driven high-quality development, Li added.

Young entrepreneurs are an important force driving innovation. Li welcomed young entrepreneurs around the world to cooperate and achieve win-win results in scientific research, industrial upgrading, green development, rural vitalization and opening-up in Shandong.

Characteristic industries of Shandong's nine cities along the Yellow River were promoted at the opening ceremony. Twenty-four key projects were also signed.
