The Yellow River Estuary is located in Dongying city, Shandong and at the intersection of Bohai Bay and Laizhou Bay. It was formed by the diversion of the Yellow River in 1855 and has created the most expansive and rich wetland ecosystem in China. The famous Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve is known as a paradise for birds.
