Dong Mingzhu's livestreaming sales surpass 7b yuan in Shandong

Print PrintThe total turnover from two livestreaming sales hosted by Dong Mingzhu, the chairwoman and president of home appliances maker Gree Electric Appliances, in the Shandong cities of Dezhou and Linyi was valued at 7.5 billion yuan ($1.11 billion).
On Sept 28, Dong promoted Gree's full range of products, as well as specialties from Dezhou, such as Dezhou braised chicken, Laoling jujube, Xiajin mulberry, and black pottery, along with local entrepreneurs.
Dezhou's unique culture and long history were also highlighted during the livestream with dances, acrobatics, and other cultural performances.
The livestream sessions in Dezhou resulted in 2.22 billion yuan in sales.
A Gree brick-and-mortar store also recently opened in Dezhou as part of the company's new retail efforts to integrate online and offline sales.
Livestream sales in Linyi had generated 5.28 billion yuan in turnover as of Sept 30.
Dong also visited the industrial parks, enterprises, and cultural venues of the two cities in pursuit of cooperation opportunities.
