Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, is ramping up efforts to promote high-quality development and develop into one of the most important cities in the Yellow River Basin.

The city has issued a three-year action plan for developing into a national central city from 2020 to 2022 in an effort to strengthen cooperation among cities in the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin.

The city will also make more efforts to promote the coordinated development of the Jinan and Zhengzhou metropolitan areas.

The city plans to develop a national supercomputing cloud center for big data and the environment to promote more intelligent management, which will benefit cities and provinces along the Yellow River.

In addition, Jinan has attached great importance to the preservation of the environment along the Yellow River. It will work to reinforce embankments, renovate rivers, and clear mudflats along the Yellow River to increase flood prevention and control capacity.

In order to better preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Yellow River Basin, Jinan also plans to strengthen cultural cooperation with provinces and cities along the Yellow River and launch a series of Yellow River culture projects to promote its inhabitation and development.
