UN officials give thumps-up to SINOTRUK

UN officials gave thumbs up to SINOTRUK, China's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, for the excellent performance of its three SITRAK trucks in a car-following trial test in Xiqing district, Tianjin, on May 7.

This car-following test for intelligent commercial vehicle fleet was the first of its kind in China. SINOTRUK's trucks performed well in keeping up and maintaining the formation of the fleet, and created a new car-following record at a distance of 15 meters ±20 percent.

Francois Guichard, official of UN Secretary Vehicle Active Safety and secretary of autonomous driving work team, spoke highly of the performance of SINOTRUK's vehicles, and said that UN has noticed the achievements made by Chinese enterprises in intelligent technology.

He believes that China will contribute to the development of international autonomous driving standards.

Marc Corona, chairman of ISO/TC22, said that Chinese enterprises show superb technical skills in autonomous driving such as car following, which will play a significant role in making related international standards.
