Jinan government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) on Jan 24, to deepen partnership in the industrial internet, artificial intelligence and space network fields. 

Sun Shutao, the mayor of Jinan met with the delegation, led by Qiao Jianyong, the president of BUPT and the two sides had an in-depth exchange on cooperation.

"Jinan enjoys superior transportation, a sound information industry and rich technological resources, which are providing a ground for mutual cooperation in the development of emerging industries," said Sun. 

Qiao said that BUPT will give full play to the advantages of technologies and talents to support the city's research and innovation in the industrial internet field. 

According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly build an industrial internet institute in Jinan's Tianqiao district to promote the development of innovations in 5G technology, artificial intelligence and virtual reality and industrial internet fields.
