Jixi Wetland Park, located in the west of Jinan's downtown, already dubbed by some as the most beautiful park in Shandong province, is expected to open to the public on May 1.

The park covers an area of 1,130 hectares, amounting to the size of ten Daming Lakes and will become the largest wetland park in the province.

The park features original ecological resources with crystal water and rich natural resources. According to the statistics, it boasts more than 860 species of plants and 202 species of animals, including more than 140 species of birds and more than 20 species of fish. It has been recognized as a national wetland park by the relevant authorities.

It also has a complete infrastructure with supermarkets, public restrooms, dining shops and public vehicles. Visitors can enjoy the nature scenery by foot, bicycle and boat.

It is hoped the space will become a center for sightseeing, recreation and exercise in Jinan.
