Jinan aims to boost tourism in southern mountainous area

Print PrintJinan, capital city of Shandong province, has pledged to promote tourism in its southern mountainous area, Zhi Liang a member of Jinan Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said on Jan 27.
"We plan to build a tourism green corridor covering the mountainous area in Changqing, Zhangqiu, Laiwu and Gangcheng districts to connect the original touring routes," Zhi, also the director of Jinan tourism development committee said at the third session of the Jinan Committee of the CPPCC.
Laiwu and Gangcheng districts enjoy rich ecological resources and also have some foundations for rural tourism development.
The authorities will increase the investment in rural tourism and develop some leisure and tourism-based activities such as skiing and folk temple fairs.
Agriculture in Laiwu and Gangcheng districts is another focus. Jinan will explore to develop its sightseeing agriculture including fruit picking to realize "tourism +" development.
