The Confucius Museum in Qufu, a county-level city in Jining, East China's Shandong province, has a collection of 700,000 cultural artifacts. The world-famous collections include 300,000 private documents and archives of the Confucius mansion which go from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to 1948.

In addition, there are more than 40,000 ancient books going back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279), more than 8,000 pieces of clothes from the Ming and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and a large number of ritual instruments related to the worship of Confucius.

The basic exhibition takes Confucius' deeds and contributions and its influence on descendants as the main line of the narrative, tracking the latest archaeological and academic achievements and using storytelling methods to fully explore the connotation of cultural relics and metaphorical ideological elements.

The exhibition includes the era of Confucius, the life of Confucius, the sagely wisdom of Confucius, Confucius and Chinese civilization, Confucius and global civilization, as well as the collection of the Kong family mansion.

The exhibition consists of admiration, cognition, dialogue, baptism and a tribute to Confucius. It forms a clear narrative logic and has infectious story clues, leaving the audience with an overall understanding and deep impression of the great man.
