The Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, also known as the Qingdao FTZ, made the 2022 list of China's most attractive industrial parks for investment.

Established on Aug 30, 2019, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area covers 52 square kilometers and is located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area – the only State-level new area in Shandong province.
The China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area adheres to the enterprise-oriented and service-prioritized concept in its development, and has formed a "three-in-one" service mechanism with distinctive regional characteristics that integrates its administrative committee, functional departments and enterprise service companies.
