Print PrintShandong province has recently released a comprehensive action plan aimed at accelerating the development of leading agricultural enterprises. By 2027, the province aims to cultivate at least three new leading enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion). The goal is to raise that number to five by 2030 and to have a total of over 1,500 key leading enterprises at the provincial and above levels. The plan outlines several key strategies to achieve these objectives.
In agriculture productions such as grain, cotton, oil, meat, eggs, dairy, fruits, vegetables, tea, fisheries, and seed production, the province will focus on nurturing a group of industry-leading enterprises with large market scales, long industry value chains, and strong comprehensive competitiveness. To attract more leading enterprises, Shandong will offer preferential tax policies to newly established companies.
To foster innovation, the plan encourages leading enterprises to increase their research and development investments. It will also support projects that enhance independent innovation capabilities, promote technology transfer, and cultivate incubators and experimental institutions.
The plan also emphasizes the importance of digitalization in agriculture. It will support leading enterprises in integrating and applying new technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
To enhance product quality and brand reputation, the plan promotes efforts to improve seed varieties, quality, branding, and standardizing production. It will also support leading enterprises in obtaining eco-friendly food, organic food, and geographical indication certifications.
Furthermore, the plan supports leading enterprises in participating in the construction of integrated utilization of livestock and poultry manure resources, rural biogas projects, ecological circular agriculture, and green agricultural development.
By implementing these measures, Shandong aims to strengthen its agricultural sector and enhance its competitiveness globally.
