The Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve recently welcomed five beautiful swans that will winter here, which will soon be joined by more in Rongcheng this year.

The Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve is located in Chengshan town, Rongcheng, Shandong's Weihai city, with a total area of 10,500 hectares, including its main area of 3,720.2 hectares.

Rongcheng's coastal area has a mild climate, a long coastline, and abundant wetland resources that provides swans with a suitable habitat and feeding environment. Every year from October to March, flocks gather at Rongcheng for wintering, with numbers exceeding 10,000 at peak times.

In addition to the Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve, the Dongying Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve, the Weishan Lake Wetland, and the Laizhou Bay in Shandong are also common sites for migratory swans. Among them, the Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve serves as a major migration place for numerous migratory birds, creating a spectacular winter scene.
