Events in Tai'an celebrate Confucius' 2575th birthday

This year marks the 2575th birthday of Confucius, the great ancient Chinese philosopher, educator, and founder of the Confucian school of thought. Tai'an in Shandong province is celebrating with cultural and tourism activities on Sept 15 and invites residents and tourists to follow in the footsteps of the great sage to climb Mount Tai and observe the world.

Among them, the Tai'an Cultural and Tourism Bureau has organized a study tour at the place where Confucius ascended Mount Tai. Tai'an Library has also launched the exhibition featuring stories of Confucius and Mount Tai, handicraft workshops, and study tours.

The city will also hold "Beauty and Harmony – Confucius-themed Cultural Activities" which includes lectures on Confucianism, a mass art gallery, and a calligraphy and painting exhibition in Wenyang town.
