Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co Ltd, located in Rizhao, Shandong province, is a global leader in vertically integrated pulp and paper production. Its product portfolio encompasses high-quality chemical pulp, white cardboard, consumer tissue, and Lyocell fibers, all manufactured with a commitment to resource efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The company maximizes resource utilization and minimizes pollutant emissions, transforming production waste such as black liquor, solid waste, and exhaust gas into valuable resources.

Across its global operations, Asia Symbol's upstream companies plant an average of 1.5 million trees each day. Timber sourced from these renewable, man-made forests is utilized for pulp and paper production, paper product manufacturing, and high-end garment fabrics.

Asia Symbol has also made significant strides in reclaimed water treatment, becoming the first pulp and paper enterprise to establish a city-level reclaimed water reuse system. Investing nearly 70 million yuan ($9.63 million), the company treats wastewater discharged from municipal wastewater treatment plants in Rizhao, processing 40,000 metric tons of wastewater daily. This initiative conserves nearly 10 million cubic meters of water annually.

Furthering its commitment to energy efficiency and emissions reduction, Asia Symbol has invested nearly 400 million yuan in a flue gas waste heat recovery project. This innovative system not only conserves coal, reduces flue gas water content, and minimizes carbon dioxide emissions, but also collects waste heat to provide winter heating for 6 million square meters of residential areas.
