Celebrate spring in Heze with peonies

The 33rd Heze International Peony Culture Tourism Festival will take place on April 8 in Heze, Shandong province. Renowned as the "hometown of peonies," Heze boasts the largest peony cultivation and research center in the world. In 2023, the city was home to a staggering 1,308 peony varieties.

The peony, known for its grace and elegance, is the city's most dazzling calling card, and this year's festival boasts stunning displays of peonies in full bloom. Visitors can marvel at the myriad colors and shapes of these magnificent flowers and experience their true beauty.

Heze is also a foodie's paradise. The city's signature dishes include lamb soup, soup dumplings, and Shaobing (a type of crispy bread). Visitors can sample these and other local delicacies at the many restaurants and food stalls throughout the city.
