Local governments in China are sparing no effort to comprehensively promote rural revitalization, moving step by step towards shared prosperity.

Wucheng county of Dezhou, Shandong province is one of them. Over the past few years, it has effectively activated the idle resources in local villages, and explored innovative ways to develop, increasing the incomes of both the village collectives and the villagers.

The local government said insisting on "eco-friendly and rational utilization", it provides strong policy support for the restoration of the abandoned industrial and mining sites, which helps the village collectives increase their incomes by more than 280,000 yuan ($39,291).

Besides, the local branches of the Communist Party of China strengthened their guidance on revitalizing idle homesteads. The Haoliang Jufeng Party Building Coalition, for example, signs homestead transfer agreements with the farmers to plant Chinese herbs, turning the idle asset into useful capital.

Wucheng also carries out a series of projects on improving the local living environment and uses them to file local government special bonds, the government added. It has so far removed more than 2,400 pieces of debris of all types.

In addition, it develops multiple new industries based on local characteristics and advantages. The government in Haowangzhaung town of the county said it fully utilizes over 80 hectares of idle ponds through the mixed farming of lotus root and crayfish, as well as bass and South American prawn farming.
