Print PrintPursuing high-quality development and low-carbon growth, local governments across China are sparing no efforts to build and make full use of renewable energies of all categories.
Hekou district of Dongying, Shandong province is one of them. The district is striving to build a green and low-carbon energy system, said Zhang Xueliang, director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Hekou.
"We will scientifically distribute green and low-carbon energies such as photoelectric and wind power, and accelerate the formation of green and low-carbon energy industrial structures in our district. We are making an effort to contribute to the high-quality development of Shandong province," Zhang said.
According to Zhang, the district has given full play to its abundant reserves of renewable energies such as solar, wind and biomass, and developed a series of related projects.
Alternatives and renewable energies, such as solar power, wind and biomass energies, have been widely adopted for industrial and civilian usage.
State Grid Dongying Hekou Power Supply Company, jointly with Hekou Development and Reform Bureau, explores integrated energy patterns, such as "solar power plus" or "wind power plus", to expand the capacity of the local power grid and improve its reliability and stability.
The district did this to further enhance the commercial application of renewable energies and enrich the region's power stable power supply, Zhang added.
Up to now, the district's installed capacity of renewable energy power generation has reached 1.31 million kilowatts, generating 1.97 billion kilowatt-hours of green power annually, and the energy storage capacity has reached 200 MWh.
The district has also pushed the digital transformation of the power grid by building an online monitoring platform and making the process of power dispatching fully automated and intelligent, which has greatly reduced costs and potential risks, according to Zhang.
