Sino-Korean youth discuss East Asian cooperation challenges in simulated negotiations

Print PrintThe Sino-Korean Youth International Affairs Simulation Negotiation Conference was held at the Weihai campus of Shandong University in the coastal city of Weihai, Shandong province on Dec 15.
The event was organized by the School of Northeast Asia Studies at Shandong University and hosted by the Northeast Asian Research Center.

Students from the School of International Studies at Chung-Ang University in South Korea, the School of Northeast Asia Studies at Shandong University and the School of Political and Public Administration at Shandong University Qingdao campus represented China, South Korea, and the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), respectively.
Through a series of speeches on various themes, they shared their views on the current status and challenges faced by their respective countries in participating in East Asian cooperation.
In addition, they engaged in simulated roundtable negotiations to discuss topics such as traditional trade cooperation, energy cooperation, and tourism and cultural cooperation in East Asia. The goal was to collectively explore the real challenges and future plans for East Asian cooperation in the new era.
East Asia is one of the most dynamic regions in the world in terms of economic development and cultural exchanges. It has huge cooperation potential and broad space for cooperation in traditional trade, energy, digital economy and cultural tourism.
The event focused on East Asian cooperation in the new era, with the aim of promoting communication, trust, and unity through the perspective of young students. It encourages deep thinking and the sharing of different viewpoints, with the common goal of enhancing cultural exchanges and emotional connections in the East Asian region.
