Shandong province hosted a winter leisure tourism promotional event in the coastal city of Yantai from Nov 26 to 27.

The event was aimed at promoting the construction of ecological civilization and the high-quality development of ecological tourism in Shandong province, advocating "green tourism", and building the Shandong winter ecotourism brand, according to officials from the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

During the event, a series of "Eco-Shandong Winter Leisure" ecotourism products and routes were launched to allow visitors to explore more of Shandong's majestic mountains, regional delicacies, rich cultural treasures and serene countryside during wintertime.

A list of ecotourism areas in Shandong was also announced at the event.
