Shandong's GDP grows 6% in first three quarters

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Shandong province reached 6.81 trillion yuan ($930.79 billion) in the first three quarters of the year, a year-on-year growth of 6 percent in real terms, according to official statistics.

Over the same time period added value of its primary industry increased by 4.3 percent to 468.8 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry reached 2.65 trillion yuan, a growth rate of 6.5 percent, and the added value of the tertiary industry amounted to 3.69 trillion yuan, increasing by 6 percent.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in Shandong hit 881.91 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9 percent over the same period of last year in real terms.

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Shandong increased by 7.1 percent year-on-year.

Fixed-asset investment grew 5.5 percent year-on-year, investment in the primary industry fell by 2.8 percent, investment in the secondary industry increased by 14.6 percent, and investment in the tertiary sector increased by 1 percent.

The operating income of the province's regulated service industry increased by 3.7 percent year-on-year, and the province's foreign trade hit 2.41 trillion yuan, up 2.5 percent year-on-year.

The province also created 975,000 new jobs in urban areas, up 2.9 percent year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of residents was 30,567 yuan, up 6.3 percent year-on-year.
