Fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit kicks off, focusing on ’Multinationals and China‘

The fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit, jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Shandong province, kicked off in Qingdao, Shandong province on Oct 11, with 800 guests including government officials, executives of multinational corporations and experts to participate in.

With "Multinationals and China" as its theme, the event aimed at showcasing China's latest achievements and opportunities in economic development and injecting confidence and momentum into the market.

Hao Mingjin, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said China remains committed to high-level opening-up policy, unwaveringly extending a hand to multinational corporations with enhanced investment collaboration prospects, carving out a more expansive sphere for development, establishing sustainable 'green' growth initiatives, and nurturing a more conducive investment climate.

Hao called upon multinational corporations to fortify their confidence, deeply engage with the Chinese market,sharethe opportunities emerging from China's high-leveldevelopment and extensive opening-up, and join hands in the continued growth of the Chinese economy."

The summit, lasting to Thursday, focuses on six main topics: attracting and utilizing foreign investment, new practices of multinationals in China, new trends in industrial investment, creating a new business environment, international cooperation in the digital economy and green, low-carbon high-quality development.

As a supporting event of the fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit, the "Multinationals and China" exhibition is displaying more than 1,600 exhibits brought by 231 companies, including Fortune 500 companies such as Tesla, Siemens, HP and AstraZeneca.

Lasting until Thursday, the exhibition spans about 10,000 square meters and has three areas: the "Multinationals in China" area, "Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong" area and "Business and Leisure" area. It showcases the cutting-edge technologies, advanced products and cooperative achievements of multinational companies in China, demonstrating Shandong province's strong industrial foundation and superior business environment.
