The ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations concluded on Sept 28 in Qufu, Shandong province, the birthplace of Confucius.

With the tagline "Common values and a community with a shared future for all mankind", this year's Nishan forum was participated in by more than 1,600 experts, scholars and embassy envoys from over 70 countries and regions.

The three-day event facilitated profound academic exchanges through keynote speeches, high-level interviews, in-depth dialogues, group discussions, and more.

The Nishan forum, which has been held nine times, provided an important platform for dialogue and exchanges among global civilizations and for the world to learn about Chinese civilization, Bai Yugang, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, also vice-chairman of the forum organizing committee, said at the closing ceremony.

A consensus was reached at the forum calling for mutual understanding among different countries. Building a human community with a shared future is a global goal requiring cooperation and joint efforts among all countries, it said.

The organizing committee will make efforts to promote Chinese culture worldwide by hosting sub-forums in other countries and regions in near future, according to Bai.
