Tai'an in East China's Shandong province has held a slew of activities to attract more international tourists, further grow its high-quality cultural tourism and promote international cultural exchanges.

During the 37th Mount Tai International Climbing Festival, an exchange activity featuring international participants was held. Over 30 expats from embassies, consulates, cultural centers and tourist offices joined the event to get closer to local culture while enjoying the scenery. They climbed Mount Tai and visited scenic spots such as Dai Temple and Dawenkou National Archaeological Park.

"I feel very happy and relaxed here on Mount Tai. Zimbabwe has mountains at a similar altitude to Mount Tai, and I hope to introduce the scenery and the valuable information I gained here to Zimbabwe and see if we can have further cooperation," said Stanley Banda, minister counselor at the Embassy of Zimbabwe in China.

On Sept 6, another exchange conversation was held in the city, with a focus on Chinese and international cultural tourism. Guests from diplomatic institutions and industry experts gathered to discuss the protection, inheritance and development of world heritage.

Such activities have showcased Chinese culture, and promoted international exchanges and communication in various cultural sectors.

The tourism industry is enjoying a rapid recovery and Tai'an is working to seize any available opportunities. With efforts put in to developing new products and routes, creating new cultural highlights and reforming the supply of tourist products, the city aims to better showcase its image and make the most of its tourism resources, in a bid to promote the high-quality growth of the cultural tourism industry.
