Nishan Library opens in Kyrgyz university

A launch ceremony of the "Corner of Chinese Culture · Nishan Library" was held at the auditorium of Kyrgyz National University in Kyrgyzstan on Sept 8.

The university has a Confucius Institute and a Kyrgyz-Chinese Cultural Exchange Institute dedicated to promoting Kyrgyz-Chinese cultural exchanges.

During the ceremony, Imanaliev Kairat Orzobayevich, the first deputy minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, said that the friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan has a long history. In recent years, cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and culture has become increasingly closer, between the two countries, he added. 

Orzobayevich said that the establishment of the Nishan Library will allow more people to understand China.

Abdurakhmanov Tolobek Abilovich, the president of Kyrgyz National University, warmly welcomed the establishment of the Nishan Library. He said that the books will provide abundant spiritual nourishment for students in the university who are interested in Chinese culture. The university has more than 1,000 students studying Chinese, and they sincerely love Chinese culture and art, he added.

Xi Yanchun, the head of the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government, Orzobayevich, Abilovich, and other officials of the Kyrgyz Republic launched the Nishan Library.

Zhang Zhihua, chairman of Shandong Publishing Group, said at the ceremony that China and Kyrgyzstan are neighboring countries, and that the ancient Silk Road closely connected the people of the two countries.

It is hoped that the Nishan Library can help enhance friendship among peoples of all countries, Zhang said.
