Team China secured victory over Japan to claim gold in the women's table tennis team event at the FISU World University Games on Aug 1 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.

The Chinese team comprising He Zhuojia, Qian Tianyi and Wang Xiaotong defeated Japan 3-2 to win the championship. "It was a tough win", He said at the post-match news conference.
