From March 5 to 14, Song Junji, vice-governor of Shandong, led a government delegation to visit Japan, South Korea, and Singapore to promote the province's high-quality opening-up that focuses on increasing trade and attracting foreign direct investment.

This visit marked the first trip by a provincial delegation of Shandong province since China optimized and adjusted its epidemic prevention and control measures. As a result, it received wide attention and welcome from the governments and business circles of Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

During its visit to Japan, the Shandong delegation reached trade and investment consensus with Japanese partners on strengthening cooperation in energy conservation, environmental protection, smart manufacturing, health care for seniors, as well as next-generation information technology.

While visiting South Korea, the two sides agreed to hold a meeting of the provincial and ministerial economic and trade cooperation mechanism in Shandong in the second half of this year. They also reached consensus on strengthening cooperation in logistics, supply chains, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, and other fields.

During its stay in Singapore, the Shandong delegation and Singapore officials agreed to hold the 24th plenary meeting of the Shandong-Singapore Economic and Trade Council in Shandong in the second half of this year to strengthen cooperation in green and low-carbon industries, as well as to release the policy dividends of the RCEP.
