Festivities are piling up in the Guanhai community in Nanhai New District of Weihai, as Spring Festival, which is China's most important holiday, is just around the corner.

Guanhai community recently organized a couplets writing activity to welcome the Chinese New Year and local residents were invited to attend the activity.

Goran Jankovic from Serbia, who has been working and living in Nanhai New District for more than three years, attended the activity with his family.

"My daughter likes to participate in traditional Chinese culture activities. Last year, she learned how to make dumplings and sugar gourds. This year, when I heard about an activity to learn how to write Spring Festival couplets, we signed up immediately," Jankovic said.

Jankovic also helped Guanhai community staff members to distribute Spring Festival couplets to local residents.
