The 2022 World Industrial Design Conference kicked off in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, on Nov 11, and will conclude on Nov 13.

This year's event, running under the theme of "Design Chain of Future Industry", is being held via both online and offline channels, and shines a spotlight on the important role of industrial design in value and industrial chains.

The event focuses on how industrial design drives the integration and innovation of the whole industrial chain. It aims to advance deep integration between industrial design and economic and social development, as well as promote exchanges and cooperation in the design industry between different countries and regions.

Industrial design is of great importance in promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. In recent years, Yantai has leveraged its advantages and accelerated the innovation development of industrial design. It now boasts a number of platforms for industrial design, such as the Chinese-German Center for Industrial Design, the Yantai International Design Town, and the World Design Park. Yantai has also cultivated more than 300 industrial design centers at different levels, including five at the national level and 44 at the provincial level.

During this year's conference, more than 500 outstanding design achievements from across the country are scheduled to be displayed, and a wide range of new technologies and latest design products are expected to be presented, offering a platform for attendees to have a closer look at China's industrial design development.
