An interview with diplomatic envoys, themed "Diversity and Mutual Learning of Civilizations" was held during the 2022 China International Confucius Cultural Festival and the Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations in Qufu, Shandong province, on Sept 27.

Five diplomatic envoys from Armenia, Thailand, Pakistan, Ethiopia and Mozambique introduced culture from their countries and expressed insight into mutual learning of civilizations.

"For centuries, my country and people have interacted with different cultures and worked hard to create and preserve every part of culture and tradition," Sergey Manassarian, Ambassador of Armenia to China said via an online link. He added that Armenia is willing to work with China to activate more cooperation in more fields.

Antonio Gaspar, education counsellor of the Embassy of Mozambique in China, said during the interview that international cooperation is crucial to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

"Mozambique is a country with diversified culture and pays much attention to cultural cooperation with other countries," Gaspar said, adding that Mozambique will make more efforts to promote mutual cultural cooperation, which is also a way to discover themselves.

A community with a shared future for mankind is vital to human development, according to Muhammed Seid Yimer, Minister of the Embassy of Ethiopia in China. He said that the concept calls for people-to-people relations, which will undoubtedly bring common prosperity and promote cultural development.

"China's culture, history, governance and development, with their rich dimensions, are widely praised around the world," said Nasreen Fatima, counsellor of the Embassy of Pakistan in China.

Fatima hoped that Pakistan and Shandong province can establish a cultural exchange mechanism to promote high-quality development of bilateral cultural exchanges.

Themed "Diversity of Human Civilizations and Common Values of Mankind", the Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations hosted more than 40 activities from Sept 26 to 28, including keynote speeches, high-level dialogues and interviews with ministers and diplomats and was participated in by more than 600 experts, scholars and embassy envoys from home and abroad.
