The 2022 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival and the Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations concluded in Qufu, Shandong province on Sept 28.

The three-day event, under the theme of "Diversity of Human Civilizations and Common Values of Mankind", hosted more than 40 activities, including keynote speeches, high-level dialogues and interviews with ministers and diplomats.

More than 800 experts and scholars from 22 countries as well as 48 embassy envoys from 31 countries participated in the event via online and offline channels.

A consensus was reached at the forum and called for concerted efforts to jointly respond to the risks and challenges in the development of civilizations, and to build an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world of lasting peace, common security and common prosperity.

This year's Nishan forum opened up new horizons for exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, Bai Yugang, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, said at the closing ceremony.

Nine parallel sub-forums were launched at this year's forum for the first time focusing on cultural relics, literature, reportage and the culture of Confucian entrepreneurs.

Bai added that more efforts will be made to build the forum into a global platform to strengthen exchanges and cooperation among different countries and regions and contribute to building a community with a shared future for all mankind.
