The "Confucius and Tolstoy: the Dialogue Transcending Time and Space" - Dialogue for ideas of Confucius and Tolstoy, was held on Sept 26 in Qufu, Shandong province.

The event, which is an important part of the 2022 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival and the Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government, the Nishan World Confucian Center, and the International Association of Teachers of Russian.

The event was held via both online and offline channels, with the main venue set up in Qufu and sub-venues in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Government officials, foreign diplomats, as well as Chinese and Russian experts and scholars took part in the event, which is designed to promote people-to-people exchanges through academic discussions and promote cultural exchanges between China and Russia and mutual understanding between Chinese and Western civilizations through the collision of ideas and wisdom.
