The 72 prominent springs of Jinan, also known as the City of Springs, add to the city's beauty and elegance. Notable springs include the Baotu Spring and the Black Tiger Spring. In 2019, Jinan's distinctive spring water environment was added to the preliminary list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites.

A worship ceremony for springs was held at the Baotu Spring Scenic Area on Sept 6, marking the opening of the 10th Jinan International Spring Water Festival. The annual festival has become an important event to promote the city's spring culture worldwide.

This year's event features a wide range of activities designed to promote the city's spring water culture and present the city's achievements since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and honor the upcoming 20th CPC National Congress.

A total of 16 major activities are scheduled to take place during the event, including a photography exhibition, a float parade, a spring searching competition and a series of cultural performances. Click the video to learn more!
