A good harvest is in sight. After mangzhong, or Grain in Ear, the ninth of 24 solar terms, the endless wheat fields in Rizhao, Shandong province, look like a moving golden oil painting as the summer breeze gently surges.

This year, June 6 marked the day of Grain in Ear. Its arrival signifies the ripening of crops, such as barley and wheat. It is also a busy period for farmers.
