A livestreaming event featuring local intangible cultural heritage items was held in Rencheng district, Jining on May 6.

During the event, seal carving master Chen Jianmin, Chinese calligraphy artist Yin Xunyuan, and crochet expert Zhou Hong told stories about the art forms they specialize in, showed their skills and answered questions from the audience.

Since Feb 21, the district has held 103 such livestreaming programs and invited more than 260 craftspeople and artists to teach the public about local intangible cultural heritage items, such as paper-cutting, embroidery and bamboo weaving.

Intangible cultural heritages are an essential part of traditional Chinese culture. Rencheng district has fully utilized the internet to establish an updated method to protect, promote and pass down its profound history and culture.
