Sophora flower festival attracts visitors to Yellow River Delta

The Yellow River Delta Wetland Sophora Flower Festival is underway in Dongying, Shandong province, attracting hordes of visitors to enjoy the vibrant landscape of the Yellow River wetland in early summer. 

The locust forest hot spring tourism area, a national 4A scenic spot, is located in the Hekou district of Dongying, northeast of Gudao town. It is the core section of the Dongying coastal tourism belt, with a planned size of roughly 1,267 hectares, and is located on the shores of the Bohai Sea and on the northern side of the Yellow River estuary.

It receives more than 300,000 tourists every year and is one of the most well-known outdoor sports bases in Dongying.

The festival has been held for 11 consecutive years, forming a series of large-scale and influential tourism activities such as the national photography exhibition, the cultural and creative products exhibition, the poetry recitation and the national camping conference.

This year, the festival offers online channels to attract more attendees from around the world to learn about the area's Yellow River culture as well as its picturesque landscapes.
