Shandong has adopted a coordinated approach to the COVID-19 response and economic and social development. It has carried out routine, targeted COVID-19 protocols and taken emergency response measures in accordance with local conditions and risk levels, with efforts being made to promote economic and social development.

The province provided tailored services to guarantee the smooth construction of major projects as they are important to increase demand and promote development, local officials said.

Special working teams have also been organized to visit construction sites to help them solve problems and difficulties arising from the current COVID-19 outbreak.

As an emerging industrial project with high science and technology content, the YESWOOD Smart Home Industrial Park in Jiaozhou, Qingdao, with a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($472.5 million), is scheduled to be put into use in July.

After the recent outbreak, some workers and materials could not enter the construction site smoothly, and the construction schedule was disrupted.

The local government responded quickly by implementing closed-loop management, conducting routine nucleic acid tests on key groups of people and the environment, frequently sterilizing and disinfecting important venues, as well as opening green channels for workers recruitment and building materials supply .

Under the impact of the epidemic, increasing effective investment in infrastructure plays a more important role in stabilizing the overall economy, local officials said.

After the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in the province, the Shandong Hi-Speed Group, a major player in infrastructure development in Shandong, has imposed tightened control and prevention measures to guarantee the smooth process of key infrastructure projects.
