Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province hosted a forum on June 8 to showcase the city's achievements in industrial internet and further promote the integration of industrial internet and the real economy.

In recent years, the city has made concerted efforts to become a national industrial internet demonstration zone. Its current goal is to have its digital economy account for more than 42 percent of its total.

Sun Bin, vice-mayor of Jinan, introduced the city's efforts to promote industrial internet at the conference. According to Sun, Jinan spends no less than 100 million yuan ($15.64 million) every year to support the development of the industrial Internet. The city has developed a complete basic network and was selected as a member of a national blockchain project known as the Xinghuo Network this April.

A total of 19,000 5G base stations have been built and 34 enterprises have been included in the provincial industrial internet demonstration platform, the most out of all cities in Shandong.

Industrial Internet and industrial digitalization are important ways to promote high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, said Sun.

He hopes that participants will strengthen communication and exchanges to speed up research and development of technologies, technological application, and industrial promotion.

"We will provide favorable policy support and a good business environment to help bolster the innovative development of industrial internet," he added.

Xiao Xue, president of Inspur Cloud, said the company will focus on smart manufacturing and promote digital upgrading of enterprises to help Shandong become a State-level industrial internet demonstration zone.

The construction of the Shandong provincial industrial internet integration platform started on the day of the conference. Inspur Cloud released eight series of products and launched its "60+ intelligent manufacturing" core solution to promote innovation development of the industrial internet.
