The 11th City Clubs Open Regatta (CCOR) will run from April 29 to May 3 at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, East China's Shandong province, after being suspended for one year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's event involves three keelboat sailing class competitions and two radio-controlled sailing class competitions. A total of 219 domestic sailors in 35 teams from 10 cities and provinces will compete in the event.
Under the theme of "sustainability", the event will also include meetings on marine environmental protection and display related products and collections.
Organizers have said that for the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the event is expected to draw crowds, and performances will be put on by professional surfers.
The event will follow COVID-19 prevention and control requirements. The competition will only accept participants from low-risk areas in the Chinese mainland. Participants are also required to register with their real names and provide green health QR codes and negative nucleic acid test reports conducted within the past seven days.
Launched in 2010, the CCOR, hosted by the Chinese Yachting Association and the city of Qingdao, adheres to the principles of professionalism, justice, and internationalism. After years of development, it has become more market-oriented and internationally recognized, integrating the sports industry with a unique urban culture.
