A set of high-tech kitchenware developed by Jinan's branch of Joyoung Group will play a vital role in helping Chinese astronauts cook in the Tianzhou 2 cargo spaceship while in space.

The company started working on developing technology to solve difficulties in food processing in space environment in 2014 before making a breakthrough in 2019.

The hot air heating device, one of the "space kitchenware", can heat packaged and canned food evenly in a short period of time. It can also make yogurt and is easy to operate.

The water purifier in the set can separate harmful substances in an astronaut's sweat and urine, allowing the water to be reused.

Joyoung Group is the first private enterprise to participate in the construction and design of China's space stations.

In recent years, Joyoung has made significant efforts in promoting the R&D of smart technologies. Some intelligent home appliances including high speed blenders and rice cookers have become widely popular among customers. Joyoung has become a leading brand for intelligent home appliances.
