The sales volume of China's heavy truck industry in 2020 hit a record high with a total of 1.62 million vehicles sold.

Sinotruk and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co, which is owned by the Shandong Heavy Industry Group, contributed to most of the sales.

The sales volume of Sinotruk and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co in heavy trucks exceeded 500,000, higher than the 488,000 made by Daimler AG in 2019, which was then the highest in the world.

Sinotruk and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co have achieved rapid growth in the past two years. In 2020, Sinotruk's annual sales of heavy trucks reached 300,000, the highest since the company was founded 90 years ago.

Leveraging the upgraded industrial chains and intelligent engines developed by Weichai Power, the sales volume of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co hit 200,000 that same year.

Weichai Power, another wholly owned subsidiary of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, specializes in developing technologies related to areas like intelligent driving, Internet of vehicles, and fuel cells.
